Donation & refund policy
Last updated August 12, 2026
This policy covers every gift made to Impact Unity Corp, a domestic nonprofit corporation organized in the State of New Mexico (file 3159806), EIN 41-4266568.
Tax treatment — read this first
Our application for recognition of exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is pending and has not been granted. Until the IRS issues a determination letter, contributions to Impact Unity Corp are not tax-deductible. Our receipts say the same thing, so you always know where your gift stands at the moment you make it.
If exemption is later granted, the determination letter will be published on this site and we will state clearly from which date deductibility applies. We will not apply it retroactively in any communication unless the letter itself does.
How we accept gifts
- All amounts are in United States dollars (USD) and are charged in USD. If your card is held in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add a foreign transaction fee that we neither control nor receive.
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. over an encrypted connection. Card details go directly to Stripe; the organization never receives or stores your full card number, and payment handling is PCI-DSS compliant through Stripe. This site is served entirely over HTTPS.
- You receive an emailed receipt as soon as the payment clears, showing the amount, the date, our legal name and EIN, and the tax statement above.
- Your card statement will show IMPACT UNITY CORP.
Nothing is shipped
A donation is a voluntary gift. You receive no goods, services, membership, entry or other consideration in return for it, so there is no delivery, no shipping and no return process. If you were expecting something in exchange for a payment on this site, write to us — it means something has gone wrong and we will refund you.
Recurring gifts
A monthly gift continues until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time, for any reason, with no explanation required — reply to any receipt or write to contact@impactunitycorp.org and we will cancel it and confirm in writing within two business days. Cancelling stops all future charges; it does not by itself refund gifts already made.
Refunds
Donations are voluntary gifts, so they are not ordinarily refundable. We refund anyway, in full, in these cases:
- Any gift, within 30 days. If you change your mind, tell us and we send it back. We do not ask why.
- Error. A duplicate charge, a wrong amount, or a recurring gift that continued after you asked us to stop — refunded in full regardless of age.
- Unauthorized use. If someone used your card without permission, we refund immediately and cooperate with your bank's investigation.
Refunds go back to the original card. Stripe typically posts them within five to ten business days. If a gift has already been paid out as a grant we still honour the refund; the shortfall comes out of our operating funds, not out of another donor's gift.
What we do with your gift
Funds are granted to organizations running community development initiatives, educational resources and social welfare programs, in line with the chartered purpose published on our record page. We do not sell, rent or trade donor information, and we do not pay commissions or bounties to anyone for bringing in donations.
Restricted gifts — a gift given for one named purpose — are honoured for that purpose or returned. We will never quietly redirect a restricted gift.
Where we are registered
Impact Unity Corp is incorporated in the State of New Mexico. Our registration with the Office of the Attorney General of New Mexico under the state's charitable solicitation requirements is in progress; the current status is shown on our record page and updated as it changes. Donations are accepted from donors anywhere in the world and are charged in United States dollars.
